|Caoduro s.p.a. was established in 1951 and today the company is run by the third generation of the family. Caoduro Isidoro started the business in a small laboratory in Vicenza manufacturing plexiglas items like signs, display cases for bars, lamps, caravan windows and windshield for cars and boats.
At the end of the ‘50s, Caoduro started the production of wall telephone cabins for SIP, public Italian company, plexiglas chairs, tables, armchairs for elite furniture and polymethilmetacrylate rooflights that found more and more employment on roof industrial buildings. Everything in the new factory in Creazzo, Vicenza.
In 1977 Caoduro began the construction of the new factory in Cavazzale that in 2008, after various enlargements, was 13.200 sq.m. on a surface of almost 30.000 sq.m.
In 2010 was completed the construction of a computerized warehouse reaching now 16.000 sq.m.
At the beginning of ‘80s, with the collaboration of architect Renzo Piano, were realized bended monolithic polycarbonate modules for the production of IBM travelling expo, American giant informatics company which showed Europe computer technology, from the biggest machine to the most modern, small and fast possible in 1982.
Between 1989 and 1990 were realized at Caoduro’s the biggest pieces in the world: one thermoformed piece of over 15 sq.m. in polycarbonate, an extremely resistant and self-extinguishing material. Polycarbonate was, in fact, used for the cover of San Paolo stadium in Naples, Italy: 45.000 sq.m., Stadio delle Alpi, Turin, part of that in Palermo in occasion of the world championship.
CThanks to extremely versatile equipment for thermoforming process made at Caoduro’s, many projects were realized such as the pedestrian covered bridge in Moscow, which is actually a commercial centre 265 m long, military university in Mu’tah, Jordan, Don Giovanni Hotel in Prague, Bucarest airport, Ferrari museum in Maranello and hundreds of covers of industrial buildings and commercial centres of the most famous brands in Europe, theatres like La Scala in Milan, La Fenice in Venice provided also with heat and smoke exhausters “Smoke out”, first in Italy to be constructed in compliance with UNI 9494 and CE marked to meet the full requirements of European normative UNI EN 12101-2/2004.
This is possible thanks to a widespread distribution of representative agencies all over Italy and in many countries in Europe, that make patented Caoduro products valuable. Moreover, to complete the range of products described above and in response of new market demands of the past few years in terms of energy saving and comfort, Caoduro S.p.a. has developed the following systems:
• SIV, Ventilation Integrated System composed of air diffusion systems, cooling systems, forced ventilation, energy saving system “Ecogy” that works thanks to solar energy.
• New heat and smoke control systems to complete the range of exhaustion products (forced heat and smoke exhausters, smoke curtains).
Caoduro is also well known as main sponsor in sport activities like volleyball, ice hockey, water polo and roller hockey. “Mens sana in corpore sano” is CAODURO’s motto taught to young boys who aspire to reach the first team.
Caoduro is present in world music promoting concerts with first musical foundations in Vicenza and in architecture world, as main sponsor since 1987 of the International award “Andrea Palladio” for young architects and International award for commission Dedalo & Minosse, this year at its tenth edition.
All these activities and the collaboration with the most famous architects and designers, represent the most actual way to be present on the market and to render Caoduro S.p.a. more and more “not only roof lights”.
